The hope of the future is in the memory
I love communicating through messages, icons and symbols to broaden perception of the observer, say something more and always convey something positive that justifies strengthen our intelligence.
In this work of mine there are several objective elements, such as the upside down helmet hanging surrounded by barbed wire, the Arch of Augustus among the rubble of a city, the map that marks a line, which make us understand the place, the lands of Rimini and the historical moment, that is passage of the Gothic line or rather, the bombings along a resistance front of the Germans to the Allied advance in World War II.
But the symbol par excellence that represents the memory of a conflict and its end, the end of total devastation and human suffering, that is, the future, lies in appropriating an object of war by transforming it into an object of continuity, which transforms the past into the present: "the helmet", an instrument of death, which contributes to new life, represented not by the often inconsistent and unwise man, but in this chance from the course of nature, as the greatest sign of purity and hope. That symbol is the little birds in the nest, waiting to be fed because, a regardless of everything, they have their lives ahead of them.
To commemorate something is to remember the past always with an eye to the future, not to repeat the same mistakes.
