Hostage
Let's start by saying that war must be condemned in all its forms. Today the media administers it to us in daily pills and it seems like a video game, a kind of virtual reality because it happens elsewhere and to others. It is also fought with propaganda and therefore based on communication and images. The contest of war requires continuous stimuli and new atrocities to be shown. There are no codes of honour, no rules or treaties that are respected. Above all, those who suffer themost consequences are innocent people; the elderly, women and children.
Personally, seeing minors taken in and held hostage on TV left me speechless. What you see is horrendous and what you don't see is even worse. This image hit rock bottom for me. To think that a loving gesture like caring for a child is carried out by their probable executioner and not by their mother or parent is the height of human perversion.
Wars today can no longer be fought, instead they should be prevented. Otherwise, it means that we have learned nothing from the past.
